So I’ve been lucky enough to have a few days off from work this week. I booked them a little while ago, but I wasn’t expecting to get them confirmed because at the moment we are a little light on the ground when it comes to employees. I got back to work today feeling a bit deflated at the fact that my days off passed me by so quickly, and in all honesty, I wasn’t looking forward to the boring hours ahead of me. Then I had an idea – since I’ve given my desk a makeover, why not write you guys a little something about it?
There is honestly nothing I dislike more at work than having a messy desk, so I’ve decided to write a post about how I’ve made my work-space feel a lot less dull and lot more organised. I find that it’s also a really good way of keeping your stress-levels down if you have a neat desk. Plus adding some home comforts to your work-space can make that 9 – 5 seem less daunting!
All the items below are under £10, which is great if you want to add your own personal touches to your cubicle without breaking the bank!
Here is what I have so far:
Rose Gold is so in right now! Instead of the boring colours these office supplies usually come in (such as silver) why not treat your office space to this cute desk tidy. Only £3.
And this magazine tidy matches! It’s a great way to keep your notes from piling up but I personally use mine just for my colouring books, crossword puzzles and my dot-to-dot books. It only costs £3.50 and it is super cute.
Add a splash of colour to your work-space with this cactus decoration. I’ve seen these in several shops both online and on the high street and the average price is £8. I was lucky enough to get mine for half the price.
I love this hanging pineapple decoration. If your office space is a cubicle then you can pin it up, if your boss allows. You won’t have to part with too much money either, as it’s only £1.50 from Primark.
If they’re not enough for your cubicle, why not try some of these ideas?
- Battery operated string lights (check if this is okay with your boss first)
- Cute photos of your pets and family (they’re the same thing, right?)
- A hanging chalk board for important notes
- A small calendar so you can keep track of appointments and deadlines
- A treat box so you always have chocolates at the ready for those particularly bad days.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the post this week! If you have any ideas on how to make your work-space feel more inviting, then please leave a comment below! Xoxo
